Dear Visitor Sometimes, it's the simplest things that offer the most comfort: a recipe that's easy to follow, a snack that melts in your mouth, or a poem that speaks directly to what you're feeling.
This week, I'd like to tell you about David - a very special man who finds pleasure and joy in the nourishing recipes I share, while offering comfort and inspiration to other grievers through his beautiful poetry.
| | | A Cookbook That Keeps on GivingDavid, who used to lead Spectrum, a bereavement group in Harrogate, recently told me how much he loves my book: "You have created a real gem! What a wonderful selection of recipes interspersed with tips and more. So easy to follow. I love the illustrations too!" Shared with David's permission, David has dysphagia and, since he has a sweet tooth and loves avocados, I suggested a couple of gentle-on-the-throat desserts from my book. One of them - my Chocolate Avocado Truffles - literally melts in the mouth, making it a great option for those with swallowing difficulties. I can't wait to hear how he's getting on with it! | |
| Originally created as a Holiday Survival Guide, my book has - quite unexpectedly - become a go-to for everyday, nourishing meals, offering a gentle guide to self-care through food. All the recipes in my book are: ✔ Wheat-free & cow’s dairy-free ✔ Easily adaptable for food intolerances ✔ Vegetarian, vegan & protein-packed options ✔ Based on my simple formula: vegetables + protein + beneficial oils
These meals aren’t just about food - they’re about nourishing yourself in a way that supports your energy, mood, and overall wellbeing, especially during difficult times.

| | | Excerpt From a Poem by David Pearson I'd like to leave you with some of David's beautiful words which are filled with hope, joy, and a gentle reminder that it's time for us to master the art of self-love: Now it’s time to heal. It’s never too late. Begin by believing in yourself. This is the self-worth You deserve to give yourself. We are all unique On a path that your spirit Has created for you. So you really are quite special. Yes we all have struggles It is all part of our purpose Sometimes we struggle alone Yet realise we are never alone.

| Sometimes the most unexpected combinations - like poetry and cooking - can create the most powerful moments of healing. As Valentine’s Day approaches, take a moment to reflect on the love you have for yourself. Healing begins from within, and your journey is as unique as you are.
If you ever feel the need for support or advice, I’m here to help.
Sending you lots of love,
Sabine |
