Grief Yoga – A Gentle Space to Breathe, Move and Feel Supported

Grief doesn’t just affect your emotions – it lives in your body too. You might notice tight shoulders, shallow breathing, constant tiredness, restlessness, or a sense of being disconnected from yourself. This gentle yoga class is designed to support you through those very real, physical and emotional effects of loss.

In each session, we use simple breathing practices, gentle movement, relaxation, sound, and short meditations to help calm your nervous system, ease tension, and create a sense of grounding and safety. Everything is offered in a slow, compassionate way, with plenty of options to rest or adapt movements to how you’re feeling on the day.

No previous yoga experience is needed. The practices are simple, gentle, and focused on helping your body and nervous system settle and rebalance. You’re welcome exactly as you are – whether you feel tearful, numb, exhausted, or just unsure where to start.

Many people find that over time, this gentle combination of breath, movement, sound and stillness helps them:

  • feel a little more settled and less overwhelmed
  • reconnect with their body in a kind, non-demanding way
  • improve sleep and energy
  • create small moments of calm in the middle of grief

This isn’t about “fixing” your grief or forcing positive emotions. It’s about giving yourself a supportive space to breathe, move, and be with whatever is present – at your own pace.
