Discover How Food Can Be Your Ally Through Grief
Join me at York’s Dead Good Festival for an interactive talk on grief and the often-overlooked mind-body connection. This gathering offers a supportive space to connect with others who are grieving and learn how to nourish your body through the emotional and physical challenges of loss.
Grief affects every part of us. Many of the symptoms that come with it—digestive issues, fatigue, brain fog, and anxiety—are closely linked to the gut and the body’s stress response. Understanding this connection is key to supporting yourself through this difficult time.
Having experienced the loss of my husband, I know firsthand how deeply grief impacts our bodies. But while grief is inevitable, suffering doesn’t have to define us. Small, meaningful steps can help us regain a sense of control and care for ourselves, even in the midst of sorrow.
In this talk, I’ll explore how grief triggers a powerful stress response—and how simple adjustments to what and how we eat can help ease that burden. You’ll walk away with practical, sustainable strategies to bring more balance and nourishment into your daily life, even when everything feels overwhelming.
In this interactive session, you’ll learn:
✔ The root causes of common grief symptoms
✔ Why you might be craving certain foods
✔ How meals influence mood, energy, and focus
✔ Tips for creating a nourishing daily routine
✔ Strategies for coping with emotional eating
Drawing on my personal experience and my work as a nutritionist and yoga therapist, I’ll share easy meal ideas, natural remedies, and gentle self-care practices to help you navigate grief with more energy, ease, and resilience.
Come along to explore how food can be a powerful ally in your healing journey. I look forward to seeing you at York Library!
